My Story

From as early as I can remember, I’ve been surrounded by diet culture.

Witnessing my own mum struggle with her weight for decades, to desperately trying to make my stomach look smaller as a teen so that I would fit in.

The problem was.. that the more diets I tried, the more difficult I found it to lose weight.

Each attempt left me feeling more helpless than the last and that there was no way that I could ever feel comfortable in my body and still actually enjoy eating food.

Frustrated and helpless, my dieting behaviours turned into stress eating.

Whether it was a 1kg tub of Nutella or an entire packet of cooking chocolate chips, I found myself trying to numb my feelings with food.

And yet, I still felt terrible.

I felt like there was no way out.

Until the day that I had enough. I was done with feeling like crap all of the time.

I simply wanted to feel good again.

I turned my back on everything people had told me, and I started doing things that simply made me feel good.

I started walking to clear my head.

I ate foods that didn't leave me feeling bloated, and stopped when they did.

I still ate chocolate, but (slowly) less and less.

I had stopped being so hard on myself about my weight and looks... and in return...

I actually started enjoying my health routines. And because I enjoyed it, I stuck to it consistently.

And because I stuck to it consistently...

I started to lose weight!

It was then that I really knew that the problem was never that I was following the wrong diet or not doing the perfect exercise program.

It was my relationship with food.

That pesky bugger that told me I had to be completely all of nothing with my diet, the real reason why I was reverting back to bingeing every time I ate 'bad' and set off the guilt and shame spiral, making me believe that I was the problem (when it was in fact the diets).

Because as soon as I started feeling okay with food again, all of the negativity and stress dissolved and I was able to enjoy my favourite foods, build habits that made me feel freaking great WHILE seeing the scale move simply as a side effect!own as a side effect.

And luckily, I am not the only one.

In the past 6 years, I have worked with over 100 women to support building a healthier lifestyle that allows them to enjoy their food without restriction and achieve their weight loss goals without stressing about the scale!

My mission? To empower women to achieve the health they desire (whatever this looks like), feeling good physically and mentally in their bodies, while enjoying all that food has to offer by providing education, support and community to assist in building sustainable health habits and positive relationships with our food.

“I'm loving working with you! I can't say enough how much better I feel about my relationship with food, about myself, and about my mindset generally, even outside of nutrition. I feel so much more in control of myself. I love that I can progress toward my weight loss goal and still enjoy food! The focus on mindset and habits has really helped me”

MY BRAND VALUES

COLLABORATION

You are in the drivers seat, I am simply the navigator. I don’t care about your BMI or what your weight ‘should’ be. I work hard to create a safe place for you to express what true health and happiness means to you, and how I can assist you to achieve this.

I also understand that along your health journey, this may change, and I support an environment of open communication to ensure that we are always on the same page.

My main priority is helping you to build health habits that align with the healthiest version of you - whatever that looks like (and no that doesn’t have to be a number on the scales).

I understand that food is not just fuel and nutrients. Food is enjoyment, celebration, comfort, culture and so much more! No one should ever be made to feel like they ‘can’t’ eat certain foods or to feel guilty for their food choices.

I firmly believe that true optimal health means balancing physical, mental and social health with food and that the healthiest version of yourself needs to be a balance of these three counterparts.

BALANCE

SUSTAINABILITY

I understand that when it comes to your health, you want change that lasts forever. Wave goodbye to the quick fixes and short term solutions that only result in more headache.

I not only care about you reaching your physical goals, but also becoming the happiest and healthiest version of yourself in the process!

Through our extensive education and support I aim to help you to develop tools that will last you a lifetime for health (meaning no more having to start a new diet every year).

I understand that true change comes from within and this is exactly why I devote our services to helping you build healthier habits and a positive relationship around nutrition once and for all so that you can actually sustain these habits and lifestyle long term!
